| The Recycling Process |
| Paper recycling plays an integral role in the preservation of the environment because the gathering of raw, virgin materials is not a part of the paper recycling process. This translates not only to the preservation of natural resources but also equates to reduced emissions as power machinery is not utilized to harvest, transport and, process virgin materials. |

| 1. Collection: The gathering of paper products. |
2. Delivery: Paper is delivered to recycling center. |
| 3. Processing: At the recycling center the paper is sorted by type and non-paper contaminants are removed. |
4. Loading: Paper is baled and loaded into crates to be transported to a paper mill where the recycling process takes place. |
| 5. Pulping: Recovered fiber is shredded and combined with water creating a pulp. Pulp is cleaned, dyes and coatings are mixed in, and the water is drained from the pulp mixture to be recycled. |
6. Papermaking: Massive rollers remove remaining moisture and smooth the crude paper into uniform thickness. |
| 7. New Product: Paper is now ready to be cut for use. |
